About Us

The Colombian Association of Clinical Research Centers or ACIC

It is an association incorporated as a private non-profit legal entity, of private utility and Colombian nationality, governed by Colombian laws and by the provisions of the articles of which the bylaws are composed.

We are an association that groups together Colombian research centers duly certified by the INVIMA. Each one of them accepts and embraces the principles of ethics and quality required by international regulations and the standards of the Association

One of its objectives is to consolidate its affiliates as world-class Centers of Excellence.

In addition, ACIC is the legal entity that represents all the centers in Colombia before the regulatory entity.

NUESTRA MISIÓN

Somos una organización que fortalece la competitividad de Colombia en investigación clínica, promoviendo en sus asociados altos estándares de calidad y trabajo articulado con los entes del sector.

NUESTRA VISIÓN

En el año 2023, ACIC asociará a la mayoría de centros de investigación clínica y promoverá la cifra de nuevos estudios clínicos más alta de la historia de Colombia.

OBJETIVOS ESTRATÉGICOS

Inicialmente se identifican 9 objetivos, los cuales se muestran a continuación:

  1. Profesionalizar la investigación clínica.
  2. Fortalecer la estructura administrativa.
  3. Educar a la población general sobre participar en investigación.
  4. Apoyar el desarrollo profesional de los comités de ética.
  5. Fortalecer la relación con el INVIMA.
  6. Generar canales de comunicación permanente con los asociados.
  7. Conseguir que todos los centros asociados logren cumplir con los 9 indicadores de ACIC 2020.
  8. Incrementar el número de centros asociados y la influencia en los CRO/patrocinadores.
  9. Lograr una mayor participación de los líderes regionales.

CALIDAD

Para ACIC es indispensable que todos sus asociados acepten y compartan el código de ética, conducta profesional y buen gobierno, pues es gracias a la alineación de valores, principios éticos, conocimiento y esfuerzos que la Asociación logrará cumplir con sus objetivos. El código describe los principios que deben exhibir sus miembros para poder pertenecer a ACIC.

Liderazgo

Tenemos la capacidad de apoderar a nuestros colegas, a las entidades públicas y privadas relacionadas directa o indirectamente con nuestra labor, a nuestros empleados y asociados y a la comunidad en general, para resaltar los beneficios de la investigación clínica y ganarnos su apoyo.

Innovación

Estamos abiertos al cambio, la adopción de nuevas técnicas y ayudas tecnológicas, y la búsqueda de herramientas y procesos distintos para mejorar nuestro desempeño.

INTEGRIDAD

Los miembros de ACIC respetamos las buenas costumbres y los principios morales, y siempre guardamos coherencia entre lo que pensamos y decimos con lo que hacemos. Los conceptos de transparencia, integridad y ética como ser humano hacen parte de este valor.

FOCO

Respondemos con eficiencia a las necesidades de los sujetos de investigación, las CROs/patrocinadores, INVIMA, CEI, y demás interesados y clientes internos o externos, así como a las exigencias propias de los protocolos de investigación en los que estamos comprometidos.

RESPETO POR LA GENTE

Comprendemos que en la investigación clínica debemos lidiar con multitud de personas, y en la medida que lo hagamos con respeto e inteligencia emocional, lograremos mejores resultados.

By 2023, ACIC will associate the majority of clinical research centers and promote the highest number of new clinical studies in the history of Colombia.

Strategic Objectives

Initially, 9 objectives were identified, which are shown below:

  1. Professionalizing clinical research.
  2. Strengthening administrative structure
  3. Educate the general population about participating in research
  4. Providing support for the professional development of ethics commibees.
  5. Strengthening relationships with INVIMA
  6. Creating continuous communication channels with associates.
  7. Making sure all associated centers achieve compliance with the 9 ACIC 2020 indicators.
  8. Increasing the number of associated centers and influence on CROs/sponsors.
  9. Achieving greater participation from regional leaders.

Quality

For ACIC, it is essential for all its associates to accept and share the code of ethics, professional conduct and good governance, because it is only by aligning values, ethical principles, knowledge and efforts that the Association will achieve its objectives. The code describes the principles members must exhibit to belong to ACIC.

Leadership

We have the ability to empower our colleagues, public and private entities directly or indirectly related to our work, our employees and associates, and the community at large, to highlight the benefits of clinical research and to gain their support.

Innovation

We are open to change, adopting new techniques and technological aids, and searching for different tools and processes to improve our performance.

Integrity

ACIC members respect good customs and moral principles, and always maintain coherence between what we think and say and what we do. The concepts of transparency, integrity and ethics as human beings are part of this value.

Focus

We respond efficiently to the needs of research subjects, CROs/sponsors, the INVIMA, CEI, and other internal or external stakeholders and clients, as well as to the requirements of the research protocols in which we are involved.

Respect for People

We understand that we must deal with a multitude of people in clinical research, and we will achieve beber results by doing so with respect and emotional intelligence.
